3. The data
storage and bandwidth limits
If you are new to
setting up web sites, you might have very little idea on how much data storage
space and bandwidth your site will need. First, do not worry too much about it.
Even most professional people will tell you that themselves. Because your needs
are going to increase the number of visitors to your site increases, you will
know everything about what you say.
Data storage:
Unless you plan to host a lot of video / video clips or a huge amount of great pictures
in high resolution, most hosting packages will do. Sites normal rarely occupy
beyond 40-50 MB (megabytes of storage space). The basic hosting package shared
registrar for top costs $ 4.99 hours includes 10 GB (1000 MB) of storage space.
bandwidth limitations:
bandwidth limit is the amount of data transfers permits hosting a month. It
depends on how many visitors your site has and the type of files you use eg
basic web pages, images or video clips, etc. Again, not much to worry about
normal websites. Most hosting providers offer "unlimited bandwidth"
even on their value shared hosting packages.
A word of caution
though for those planning to host video / video clips or photos in high
definition. Do not be fooled by hosting packages unlimited bandwidth shared. If
you go through the "Terms of Use" and "common use policy"
for the most common hosting packages, they will undoubtedly have a section
where it says that you are not allowed or will be charged in addition to
"the use of abnormally high data bandwidth." Tips You will probably
be better to choose VPS or dedicated server or hosting or high bandwidth clouds
packets.
